About
Most of what I write here starts with a question I can't shake. How do you teach something that changes a heart and not just a head? How do you get people to care about a risk they can't see yet? How do you disciple your kids in the ten minutes before practice, instead of adding one more thing to the calendar?
Most of what follows is Scripture. I'm working out my own salvation in Jesus, still learning what it means to follow Him faithfully rather than tidily. Somewhere along the way I fell in love with the work of Bible study itself: the digging, the cross-references, the slow morning when a passage finally cracks open. I teach and lead study at my church, and that love for the process is the thing I most want to hand over. Not just conclusions about the text. A taste for getting there.
The rest comes out of a career spent in technology. My day job is VP and Chief Information Security Officer at Datacor, where I lead the security and privacy program. I'm a CISSP, a lifelong tech enthusiast, and lately someone who has gone deep on AI and hasn't stopped exploring what it can actually do. I want to bring you along on that — not the hype, not the doom. What's genuinely useful, what's genuinely risky, and how to tell the two apart.
So you'll find technology here too: AI you can put to work, information security, and the privacy risks most of us have quietly agreed to without reading. I'd like you to leave knowing more than you came with, and less intimidated by the parts that only sound complicated.
At home I'm a husband to one remarkable woman and a dad to four sons. I ask God most days to keep shaping me into the man they already deserve. I'm not there yet, and I know it.
Which is the honest frame for all of this: I write to work things out, not to report conclusions. I fully expect to be replaced tomorrow — hopefully by a better version of myself. Take whatever's useful.
